The Last Update 19th December '14

Well folks, just to say that this fansite will no longer be updated but I'll keep it online so you can still read the all the information etc.

I want to say a big thank you for your support throughout the years — it's been very much appreciated. I can't believe that I've been a webmaster (I say that loosely) for nearly 15 years starting with The Gil Gerard/Buck Rogers Site, which went online in February 2000. It's been quite an adventure and I've enjoyed sharing it with you.

So for the final time I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Suits you, Sir! 6th August '14

For this update I've added photos of the two Buck Rogers jumpsuits that I own. One black and one brown, they were worn by Gil Gerard during the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century TV series (1979-81).

Sadly I don't know which episodes he wore them in, as I believe that there were more than just one black and one brown jumpsuit. I've had them for over 10 years and thought it's about time I 'shared' them. I did the best I could with the photos; I haven't got a mannequin — and no folks, I wasn't going to model them because well, that would be weird on many levels LOL

News: New Role for Felix 7th June '14

Felix Silla (who played Twiki in the 1979-81 Buck Rogers) is set to star in a live action comedy entitled Death to Cupid. It's Felix's first new role since 1996.

"Death to Cupid is an original, live-action comedy of one man’s hunt for that chubby little cherub. Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, this dark tale of romantic blunders is a unique look at a life’s journey through love and relationships, with a little help from Kris Kringle."

Buck and ZarinaBack in March I added a vintage Starlog article from August 1980 in regard to the making of The Flight of the War Witch, the final episode of season one — that article dealt with the production side of things.

For this update I'm turning back the clock once again with an article from Starlog #38 dated September 1980. It's part two of the 'Behind the Scenes of Buck Rogers' feature and this time it's all about the shooting of The Flight of the War Witch

The buckrogersfans Yahoo! Group is now closed. Thank you to owner/moderator Raol (LuckyBuck) for all he has done, including his support, over the years.

Oh and just to say folks that I'm not an expert in the value of Buck Rogers collectables, so I'm unable to tell you how much an item is worth.

How the War Witch Took Flight 6th March '14

More nostalgia. Turning back the clock to August 1980 with an article from Starlog #37 regarding the season one episode The Flight of the War Witch (last episode of the season). In Starlog's part one of looking "Behind the Scenes on Buck Rogers", it's all about the production — the concept meeting which was held to discuss, amongst other things, the special effects on The Flight of the War Witch (no use of CGI back then folks). It's a race against time to prepare a feature length episode in just six weeks.

Poster Designs 9th January '14

Thanks to Simon Egan for his poster designs, which are based on the "Who would You like to see as the new Buck Rogers"? Poll. The posters are of how each of the actors suggested in the Poll might look in his version of Buck Rogers. In Simon's version of the story the evil force trying to conquer Earth is Tigerman, and Wilma and Twiki are one character — a cyborg/android half human robot female. Simon's choice of actor for 'other' is Josh Duhamel.

Dick Calkins Autograph

Many thanks to Jeanette Lasky for allowing me to share the above autographed sketch by Dick Calkins. Dick Calkins was the artist for the Buck Rogers comic strip from January, 1929 to November, 1947. It's one of many autographs in a bound autograph book, which were collected by Jeanette's sister-in-law's uncle — Jeanette's sister-in-law, Judy Lasky, inherited the autograph book.
